Hosting and technical delivery
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Accessing the website involves processing technical data, including IP address, date and time, requested address or file, data volume, status messages, browser and operating-system information and, where transmitted, the referring page. Recipients include Cloudflare and its service subprocessors. Processing serves reliable delivery, security, attack prevention and troubleshooting. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website.
Retention and international processing
Technical data is processed for as long as necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting or legal obligations. Retention depends on the relevant technical purpose and whether the data remains necessary; website files are also cached within the Cloudflare network. Processing outside the EU and EEA, particularly in the United States, is possible. Cloudflare describes its processing arrangements, subprocessors and contractual safeguards, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses, in its Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum. Further information on processing and retention: Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Copies of relevant safeguards may also be requested from the controller.
Cookies, browser storage and audience measurement
The website code I provide contains no advertising or analytics trackers and stores no cookies or language preferences in browser storage. Language is selected through the page address. A security policy restricts scripts to this website’s own files and blocks analytics connections from the page code. Technical processing by the hosting provider is unaffected. YouTube may store or access information on your device after you voluntarily activate a video.
YouTube videos: optional consent
Music videos are provided by YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Neither a YouTube player nor a Google-hosted thumbnail is loaded before consent. Selecting “Load YouTube video” loads a player from youtube-nocookie.com. Google may then receive your IP address, browser and device information, the visited website and usage data, and store or access information on your device. Google may use this information to deliver, secure and analyse its video service. Transfers to Google LLC and processing in the United States are possible. Details about recipients, retention and Google’s international transfer mechanisms are available in the Google Privacy Policy. The legal basis is your voluntary consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Videos are optional; other content remains available without consent. You can remove each player at any time using “Remove video / withdraw consent” next to the video. Consent is not permanently stored and lasts only until the player is removed or the page is reloaded. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing. Removing the player does not automatically delete data already sent to or stored by Google.
Local globe and website files
Map data, images, typography and the website’s own scripts are delivered with this website. The globe requires no external map service. Geographic data comes from Natural Earth; licence details for its packaging are included with the local map files.
Email enquiries
If you email me, I process your email address, your name if supplied, and your message to handle your enquiry. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contractual or pre-contractual enquiries; otherwise Article 6(1)(f) applies, based on my interest in answering enquiries. Messages are deleted when the matter is resolved unless legal retention obligations or legitimate grounds to establish or defend claims require otherwise. Providing data is voluntary, but I need your enquiry and a way to reply in order to respond.
The hotmail.de mailbox uses Microsoft’s Outlook.com email service. Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, and, where applicable, other Microsoft companies process messages and technical data. Processing in the United States is possible. Information about processing, deletion periods and transfer safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, is provided in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
External links
Instagram, YouTube and event websites are also offered as ordinary links. These links do not themselves establish a connection to the destination provider before you click them. After following a link, that provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may withdraw consent at any time for the future (Article 7(3)). Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21). Contact the controller using the details above. You may also complain to a supervisory authority (Article 77), particularly the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen. The website’s own code does not perform automated decision-making, including profiling.
